An education in breaks

Now im sure your all very well educated folk when it comes to music but just incase you were locked away in a basement by your weird and twisted uncle Fritzel for the last couple years im here to teach you a valuable lesson in Breakbeat.

Posticular Specularus

Its friday which means we'll be away from the computer for the weekend :(

We are gonna leave you with some beats to keep you going over the next few days, dont want you having with-drawl symptoms!

First up is some DURTY dubstep!

You may have heard this raping the bass bins at the last Sly Fly night

Here's some breaks for y'all! We dont feature enough breaks on this blog but while playing some tunes with my mate the other day he said he needed this tune.... here you are matey

To cover all bases here's a bit of electro house, this time from Herve, give it some time, the drop is worth the wait.....

And to top it all off here's a mix that we've been rocking out to today -

Back on the breaks

Did a little clean out of my record collection this weekend and found some gems hidden away that i had misplaced. Man am i glad i have found them again!

The icing on the cake has to be Fabriclive 19: Freestylers. An album that perfectly complimented my early raver days on the steps of Fabric.

Breaks have taken a back seat for me recently but listening to this album brought back all those hands in the air, jungle stepping days of old. Check out this track and make sure you track down a copy and its fucking sick!

NAPT - Gotta Have More Cowbell

NAPT have done to the Breakspoll Awards what Slumdog Millionaire did to the oscars..... RAPED IT!!!

Winning pretty much everything from Best Dj to Best Remixer they have pretty much destroyed it over the last year. Currently sitting atop of the Beatport breaks chart with their remix of Kish Mauve's 'Lose Control' it just seems to get easier for these guys

Also check out the sick Dj mix they did for an exclusive on London Kicks last year.... I think they like Justin Timberlake a bit too much.
